Today’s selection is Todd Hido’s superb ‘Homes at Night’ series.
1951
Loaded with atmosphere and mystery, it’s not the homes themselves that are the stars of the show, rather it’s the unseen inhabitants.
More on Todd’s website.
An standout slice of photojournalism today from MacArthur Fellowship winner Lynsey Addario.
The image above is from her Afghanistan Heroin series. More on her website.
From his excellent ‘Noblesse Oblige’ series.
Photos of the young or the old can often be overly sentimental. Chris’ images are straightforward and beautifully realised, allowing the individual personalities to reveal themselves.
The rest of the series can be found on Chris’ website.
I’ve been following Ana’s work for a while now and it seems she is one of these photographers that just has a natural style. Her work to me seems soft and delicate whilst still retaining a contemporary feel.
I really like this set of images entitled ‘Corbelle’.
Here is what Ana has to say about them.
This August I went to Corbelle, (like ALL the summers since I was born).
Through all my life I’ve experienced contradictories feelings to that small village…from loving it because I was allowed to run and get my clothes dirty in those awesome Galician forests (trying to find fairies in them) to hating staying there (hey, no internet, no bars, no supermarkets…nothing) when I was 15.
Then, I came back this summer and I felt it strange. The difference this time was that I had Salva’s Rolleiflex with me…and above all, the thing that photography has changed my own way of looking to things this year. I found Corbelle different, wonderfully decadent.
