Some documentary subjects require a significant degree of physical commitment on behalf of the photographer. Commercial fishing on the Bering Sea during the winter is probably one of them.
Corey Arnold is a commercial fisherman and photographer who is working on a lifelong project “Fish-Work” which chronicles the commercial fishing lifestyle throughout the world.

This selection is long overdue. One of my favourite projects is Richard Renaldi’s ‘Fall River Boys’.
All photos © Richard Renaldi.
Starting in the Spring of 2000 and lasting nine years, Renaldi made frequent trips to the Massachusetts town of Fall River. Located near to the Atlantic coast, Fall River was once a centre for textile manufacturing. Renaldi photographed the young men of the Fall River as they came of age in a town and an industrial landscape that was past its prime.
The results are compelling.
