Wendy Pye at U.K.I.E: VER

Nova photographer Wendy Pye is one of six UK artists featured in ‘Ver’ - the UK-Korea Interchange Exhibition of Contemporary Photography. Images from Wendy’s ‘Luminous Flux’ series will be shown.

The exhibition brings together a selection of works by talented artists from the UK & Korea, “exploring the links, gaps, questions, and sensibilities in the context of the cultural integration.”

The features a range of production techniques from traditional handmade prints to digitally enhanced photographic manipulations combined with printmaking techniques.

The exhibition is at the AM Gallery in Brighton until 23rd January.

A couple of Nova photographers will be featured on the Photo Fringe of the Brighton Photo Biennial 2010.

Wendy Pye is one of the exhibiting photographers at In Site at the Bluedog Gallery. Wendy will be exhibiting work from her ‘Luminous Flux’ series - part of her Beachy Head project. An image from her series ‘In Memory of 12′ is available from the gallery.

Julian Ward is one of the featured photographers at Traces at Gallery 100. Julian’s photo ‘Peru, 2006′ is available from the gallery.

Tom Hull Achieves a 1st Place at the International Photographer of the Year Awards

Nova photographer Tom Hull’s project ‘Sprung’ has been awarded first place in the Architecture: Buildings (non-professional) category of the International Photography Awards. The mission of the awards is to “salute the achievements of the world’s finest photographers, to discover new and emerging talent, and to promote the appreciation of photography”.

Tom will be invited to the Lucie Awards in New York on October 27th to compete for the title of the ‘Discovery of the Year’ provided by Blurb, a Lucie Statue and $5,000 cash prize.

At the Gala Awards ceremony honours will also be given for Lifetime Achievement, distinguishing some of the world’s greatest men and women whose life’s work in fashion, photojournalism, advertising and fine art merit the highest acclaim by their peers. The winner of the International Photographer of the Year will also receive a ‘Lucie’.

‘Sprung’ was featured as a Pick of the Day on the Nova blog in October last year.

‘Faint Tracings’ - A New Photoblog from Joe Gerhard

Nova photographer Joe Gerhard has launched a new photoblog, ‘Faint Tracings’.

The new blog is on the blogger platform and will allow Joe to “publish a wider variety of updates and post from anywhere—even from my iPhone—and allow for participation from the folks who visit.”

Joe currently maintains another photoblog motelrodeo.

Jon Horvath achieves Philadelphia Museum of Art Purchase Award

Nova Photographer Jon Horvath has achieved the Julie Jensen Bryan and Robert Bryan Philadelphia Museum of Art Purchase Award for his photograph ‘White Car, 2008′.
