From the artist: "There are enduringly appealing
things I focus my work on involving obsession and
necessity, value and loss, notions I can consistently
rely on to continue in my life and art.
"My drive to create results from a drive to
destroy myself and the things I hate, thus becoming
a dichotomy of givens, a resistance to the way things
are and the way things ought to be. As a consequence
the subjects I become drawn to have a seeming necessity,
yet remain despised."
