FEATURED (31
August 2010)
Peru, 2006 by Julian
Ward
From the artist: "In 2006 I travelled
to Peru to raise money for 'Cancer Research UK'. Our group
trekked away from the main Inca trail to Machu Picchu over
8 days through villages and across mountain ranges that people
don't traditionally get to see.
"This time was a reflection on my purpose
for undergoing the journey and this image is one of a series
I made while there. The work contributes to ongoing theme
throughout my work which relates to the loss of my father.
"The route and other images can be seen
in the edited book 'Peru'.
